When we released EventBoard for Android over the summer, our goal was to ship it quickly and then layer on the most popular conference room display features later. We’re charging down that path and are happy to announce two new features for Android tablets: Work Requests and the ability to find another room.
Work Requests – Is the projector broken, are all the dry erase markers dead, is the WiFi spotty? Employees can easily submit work requests directly from the EventBoard conference room display outside of the room, so issues can be addressed quickly. This release also aligns to our new JIRA integration so you can prioritize and resolve them in a snap.
Find another room – This one is pretty self-explanatory: It allows any employee standing outside an occupied conference room to use the room’s display to quickly find the nearest available space to meet.
This option varies slightly on Android vs. iPad. On Android, we’ve changed the behavior a bit to better represent how people use it, which is usually a “I need a room for 30 minutes” scenario. Once you tap the Find Another Room button on the display, you’ll see three big buttons at the top, for 15, 30 and 60 minutes. Tap one of those and select one of the rooms available right now for the specified amount of time. It’s now yours, so get over there and get things done.
