How frequently are meeting rooms actually used?

The Story Behind This Graph

This metric shows the trend of how conference rooms are being utilized. It depicts how many meetings occur in conference rooms per day, and the number of hours per day that those conference rooms are in use. This number is more accurate than similar metrics provided by other organizations because the Teem platform captures ad-hoc, or impromptu, meetings.

Why It Matters

Most organizations would love to have more visibility into how their offices support their employees and business objectives. A key question in that discussion is “Are our meeting spaces being used to capacity and is our staff coordinating enough?”

Tracking how much conference rooms are used can help answer both parts of that question. Because even in the open office environment, the most focused collaboration efforts still happen in meeting rooms. So measuring how a business uses its meeting spaces is like monitoring the heartbeat of office collaboration.

How It’s Calculated

For the average number of meetings per room, we add up the number of scheduled meetings in each room per workday. Then we average over all the available days the rooms could be used.
